HPA
High Performance AeroplaneIf you want to fly a so-called high-performance aircraft (HPA), you need HPA training if you have not at least completed ATPL theory. A distinction is made between non-complex (e.g. Piper Meridian, Socata TBM 850, PC-12) and complex high-performance aircraft equipped with two turbine engines (e.g. Beech King Air, Cessna Citation). For both categories, PPL or CPL pilots require HPA training; for the second category, the MEP/IR rating is also required. In any case, a separate type rating must be obtained for the respective aircraft. Our HPA course will provide you with sufficient knowledge about the operation of aircraft that can fly at high speeds and at high altitudes, as well as knowledge about the aircraft systems required for such flight operations.
Your training looks like this
Theoretical training
The course includes the subjects:
- Airframes & Systems
- Electrics
- Powerplant
- Performance
- Human Performance and Limitations
- Meteorology
- Radio navigation
- Principles of Flight
Practical training
No practical training is provided. The course concludes with a theoretical examination at the school and a corresponding certificate. The authorization is then entered in the license by the authorities. The duration depends on whether the VFR and IFR (according to EASA FCL.720) part has to be done.
